My name is Andrew Lai. I grew up in Georgia for part of my life, then moved to Worcester, MA, for high school. I’m an electrical engineering major. I use he/him, and this is my 2nd year at UMass Boston.

One of my favorite forms of media is movies. Some of my favorite movies are The Batman, Catch Me If You Can, and Spider-Man: Brand New Day. I also enjoy watching TV shows and anime like Invincible, Dexter, and Naruto.

I recently watched The Odyssey. I’ve always enjoyed reading Greek mythology growing up, and I was really excited to watch a movie about it. I enjoyed watching Odysseus travel the world and face the different obstacles on his way home. I also liked how they portrayed Agamemnon in the movie, as he was intimidating and cool to watch.

An anime I recently watched was Sakamoto Days. It’s about an assassin who retires to start a family. He eventually gets dragged back into the workforce, while also trying to protect his family. I really enjoyed watching the protagonist and his side characters fight deadly assassins while also trying to balance his life.

Overall, I enjoy watching mostly action films. I do try to dabble in other genres from time to time, but they never give me the same excitement. I enjoy hanging out and playing basketball with my friends, and I look forward to meeting all of you guys.
