My name is Alyssa Vieira. My pronouns are she/her. This is my senior year and I am majoring in Exercise and Health Science. I am 24 years old. I currently live in Boston, but I am originally from Cape Verde.

I don’t necessarily have a piece of art or literature that I feel like represents me. I love reading novels and psychological thrillers. I like the feeling of reading a book and creating characters and scenarios in my head, as well as feeling the emotions from them. I am a very passionate person. I love love. I also enjoy playing detective while reading and being completely wrong, and caught off guard at the end by the plot twists. Lastly, I believe music is an amazing form of expression.

I recently read the book, Verity by Colleen Hoover, and I really enjoyed it. I think it’s dark and twisted, but I also felt like it makes you question yourself and your own beliefs. The author left a lot of room for questions at the end of the book. (Spoiler alert) Do you believe the manuscript, or do you believe the letter? I believe the letter and I guess that’s who I am as a reader.
